Reverend Margaret Doughty & Deacon Helen Gardner

Currently we have two ministers who have different roles withn the church.

Rev. Margaret Doughty whose main role is within the church and Deacon Helen Gardner whose main role in within the community.

They work together and with church members and the community to provide opportunities for all and to give support where needed.

I would like to introduce myself, I am the Reverend Margaret Doughty, and because there is a shortage of ministers in the Methodist Church, I have come out of retirement and continued to serve as a minister, something I do with joy in my heart and a deep feeling of peace.

I spent most of my ministry serving in various locations in Yorkshire but now am here, almost where I began, in Lincolnshire .

People that know me will tell you that I have a great sense of humour which I thank God for. I also have a wonderful relationship with my heavenly Father, engaging in regular prayer times, and will pray  for anyone who asks  and also, most importantly, for those who do not ask.

I enjoy reflecting on the words of the Bible and I am often amazed, when I come across some words of scripture which I have read many times, but which sometimes  almost leap off the page, and God seems very close.

I love sharing experiences and chatting to people, I have had a variety of jobs down the years beginning with training as a nurse on leaving school, and then God called me, firstly to be a Local Preacher in the Methodist Church, and then soon after to offer as a minister. This was a big challenge, and a great privilege which  I continue  to enjoy .

I shall be around at various events at Moorland Park as well as leading Worship, and I hope that you will feel able to speak to me and share your hopes and dreams and your concerns as well.

With love and prayers
